They were reasonably cordial to each other the first time they talked in BotL, though Annabeth was slightly annoyed that Hera didn’t give them answers. Though I do understand their annoyance at times. I do think that some of the heroes are a little unfairly angry with Hera, considering that she at least tries to help, tends to not demand they do some quest or favor for her help, and how little she tries to murder others. I agree with some of this, but not all of it. I hope no one will kick me out for this, but I want to know if someone else thinks that. I consider Hera a KWEEN and I like her a lot and that’s that. Her husband has an authority over her, being the king, so she has to go through his lies, his cheating and the other Olympian’s dislike, and she still is always so high and full of dignity. I still appreciate them more for doing something instead of hiding or caring solely about their pettiness and personal problems (cough cough, *Mark of Athena and the Athena Parthenos*, cough cough).Īnd Zeus saying “It WaSn’T tHeE oNlY waY”, yeah, probably, but HIS way was doing fucking nothing, so HE really got no room to judge. The only one who also tried something was Apollo with the whole Octavian thing, and we all knew how it ended. HOW DOES HE DARE, CONSIDERING HE DIDN’T FUCKING DO ANYTHING? She tried something and her plan was working, and she also was captured while her dutiful husband very bravely hid the whole time along with the other gods. Then, in Athens, Zeus treated her very badly. Yes, she could have asked instead of using them like tools, but they would have said “no lol”, and oh, well, welcome to the Apocalypse. Is it her fault that Leo was possessed and Octavian was a bitch? No.Ĭan we blame her if she didn’t care about Percabeth, comparing them to the end of the world? When the Greeks came, they were coming in peace and the Romans were ready to welcome them AS HERA HAD PLANNED. Okay, they almost fought each other, but that wasn’t her fault and no one expected it. She switched two heroes and made the camps meet. ![]() Like, what was the god’s plan? Closing their eyes and singing “lalalala” so they wouldn’t have heard Gaia destroying the world? Wow, a great leader.Īnd instead of following her husband like a sheep, she had the freaking balls to do something. Zeus understood that Gaea was rising and decided to hide on Olympus, hoping that ignoring the situation would make it go away. Now I don’t want to be that guy, but the plan FUCKING WORKED? Thalia heavily disrespected her at the end of TLH and she did nothing murderous (like many would have done). Isn’t this exactly what ALL the gods do? Considering he was Zeus’ son, and considering what she usually does to them, she was generous with both the Grace siblings. She chose him as her “pupil” and this put him in some uncomfortable situations. She gave him the quest to free her, true. I’m not saying she’s right blaming the women he cheated with, but didn’t other goddesses (Artemis and Callisto, Atena and Medusa) do the same thing? “DoN’t wOrRy hE iSs jUsT mAi cUp bEaRer”, yeah sure. He even made Ganymedes immortal, which is kinda a slap in the face. ![]() Her husband humiliate her by lying in her face and cheating with every woman he likes (and some man). She is the queen, but still the unhappiest among the gods. If she helps you, she expects you to be grateful.Īlso, she’s always cheated on and all the Olympians despise her. She’s the queen of… basically the universe. Hera tried to help them but at the end Annabeth refused to thank her because… she was doing it for her own advantages, maybe? Anyway, she really did something to help them: she acted like every other god, and her demanding respect wasn’t so odd. It’s been eons since I read or reread Pjo (I still really like it tho). I don’t even remember WHY they hate each other since the fourth book of the first series. I know, I’m going to get kicked out of the fandom. ![]() Like, the fandom hates her and considers her a bitch but I completely understand her actions and I kinda like the vibe she gives to me, she really is a queen.įirst of all, she hates Annabeth. Sometimes I will mention a myth, but most of this analysis is based off Pjo and HoO. I’m talking about a character in a book series. DISCLAIMER: this is based on Percy Jackson’s Hera (and Zeus).
